Security & Trust
Pro Contractor Studio is a downloadable Windows application built by a family business since 1989. Here's exactly what it is, what it isn't, and how you can verify it for yourself.
What Pro Contractor Studio is
Pro Contractor Studio (PCS) is a downloadable Windows CAD and design application for irrigation and landscape contractors. You install it on your own PC and it runs locally — it is not a web app, browser extension, or cloud service. It's used to draw plans, run hydraulics, size pipe, and build plant and equipment lists.
What PCS does not do
- It does not require an internet connection to run.
- It does not send your drawings or file contents to our servers.
- It does not include bundled third-party software, adware, or toolbars.
- It does not track your activity or install background services beyond the application itself.
- It does not sell your personal information — see our Privacy Policy.
Our approach to security
- Code-signed installer. Our installer is digitally signed as Software Republic, LLP, so Windows recognizes it as coming from a verified publisher rather than an unknown source.
- Single, official source. The genuine installer is distributed only from softwarerepublic.com. We recommend downloading only from our site.
- Independently scannable. Both the installer and our website can be checked against third-party security services — the live reports are linked below.
Independently verified
PCS and our website are scanned by independent security vendors and third-party services. Each card below links to the live report so you can check the current results for yourself.
These links open the current, live reports from each provider. Results are maintained by the third parties themselves — we don't control or edit them, which is exactly why they're worth checking.
Common questions
How can I verify the installer is signed?
Right-click the installer, choose Properties, and open the Digital Signatures tab. You'll see Software Republic, LLP listed as the signer. Windows also shows the verified publisher name in the User Account Control prompt when you run it.
Why might an antivirus flag the installer?
Security scanners occasionally label installer-packaging or compression tools as a "Potentially Unwanted Application" (PUA). The full VirusTotal report linked above shows each vendor's current result individually, so you can see exactly what is and isn't flagged at any given time rather than taking our word for it.
Does PCS collect telemetry or send data back to you?
No. PCS is a standalone Windows application. It doesn't require an internet connection to run, doesn't send usage data or file contents to our servers, and includes no bundled software, adware, or tracking.
