How do I change irrigation symbols once they are already on the design screen.

To change symbols once they are on the screen is a multiple step process. This process will apply to any symbol including controllers, control valve symbols or even plant symbols. In this example we will demonstrate how to change sprinkler symbols on the design.

1. Using the RainCAD > Options/Info > Properties command, determine the type of sprinkler to change. For this example, assume you are wanting to change the symbol assignment for all Rain Bird 15H turf sprays.
2. Click on the RainCAD > Databases > Irrigation > Sprinkler Symbols command.
3. Locate the sprinkler to change in the database.
4. Adjust the symbol assignment to the new desired symbol and Save the change.
5. Using the RainCAD > Options/Info > Properties command, select a sprinkler to change on the design screen.
6. Change the sprinkler assignment to a different manufacturer or sprinkler. For this example, change the settings to a Toro 15H turf spray.
7. With the Properties box still open, click on the Apply Function drop down menu and select Replace All.
8. Click on the Apply Changes button.
9. All of the Rain Bird 15H turf spray symbols will be changed to Toro 15H turf spray symbols.

Now you must remove all of the Rain Bird 15H turf spray symbols that are stored inside of the drawing. To remove the symbols:

1. Type purge in the AcceliCAD command line and press Enter.
2. At the resulting Purge: baTch/All/Blocks/Dimstyles/LAyers/LTypes/STyles: prompt, type All and press Enter.
3. At the resulting Enter name(s) to purge <*>: prompt, type * and press Enter.
4. Type All and press Enter to any of the remaining prompts.
5. Repeat the steps until all unused blocks have been removed from the drawing.

Now you can change the symbols back to Rain Bird 15H turf sprays and the new symbol assignment will be placed on the design screen. To return to the original sprinkler assignment:

1. Using the RainCAD > Options/Info > Properties command, select a sprinkler to change on the design screen.
2. Change the sprinkler assignment to the original manufacturer and sprinkler type. For this example, change the settings back to a Rain Bird 15H turf spray.
3. With the Properties box still open, click on the Apply Function drop down menu and select Replace All.
4. Click on the Apply Changes button.
5. All of the Toro 15H turf spray symbols will be changed back to Rain Bird 15H turf spray symbols using the new symbol assignment as set back in the original series of steps above.
