I receive an error when starting a new drawing.

If you receive an error message similar to the following when opening a new drawing, there is a setting that holds the values for the last window size that is not set correctly. An Unhandled exception has occurred in your application - '-X' is not a valid value for property 'X'. Please follow these instructions to resolve the issue:

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and under Programs > Accessories choose Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type regedit in the text box and click on the OK button. This should open the Registry Editor.
  3. In the Registry Editor left hand pane, navigate to the folllowing folder for the type of Windows you have installed: Windows 32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Software Republic\Pro Contractor Studio 1\FormSettings Windows 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Software Republic\Pro Contractor Studio 1\FormSettings
  4. In the right hand pane find a record named CsDocument.
  5. There are five sets of numbers seperated by a comma. The first two numbers are the X and Y coordinate of where all new drawing will open. The 3rd and 4th numbers are the width and height of the document and the last number is whether it's a normal window, minimized, or maximized window. If any of these numbers have a negative value they need to be reset.
  6. To reset the value, right click on the CsDocument record and choose Modify. Set the value to: 0,0,600,500,0
  7. Click on the OK button and then close the Registry Editor.
  8. Restart Pro Contractor Studio and you should be up and operational.
