When placing irrigation symbols, a black or white background hatch fills the entire symbol.
The hatch is a part of the Symbol Trim command which hides pipe or wire behind irrigation or accent lighting symbols. The command prevents the symbols from being distorted by having pipe or wire running through the symbol itself. You can match the interior of the symbols to the Model space background color or to a Layout background color.
To trim pipe or wire to the symbols:- On the Symbols menu, click Pipe/Wire Symbol Trim.
- In the Symbol Trim dialog box, select On from the Trim Status drop down menu to hide pipe behind the irrigation symbols. Select Off to move the pipe in front of the irrigation symbols.
- From the Trim Fill Color drop down menu, select Match to Modelspace Background Color or Match to Layout Background Color.
- Click on the Apply button to apply the change to the design.
- Click on the Close button to exit the dialog box.
You can turn the hatch off entirely by using the AutoCAD layer manager and turning the L-SYMB-TRIM layer to invisible.
