Pro Contractor Studio

I can no longer calculate the hydraulics from the design located on the main sheet and place them on a second sheet.

Many designers are creating designs that appear on more than one sheet of paper. For example, there may be a streetscape with part of the design on the main sheet, more on a second sheet, and even more on a third or forth sheet. Pro Contractor Studio was not originally developed for this type of design, but more and more designers are attempting to do larger and larger designs. The problem that occurs is Pro Contractor Studio reads all of the sprinklers, pipe, valves, etc. on all of the sheets when it sizes pipe and performs hydraulic calculations. Each of these devices are located on a sheet at X and Y coordinates. When a design is spread out onto multiple sheets, it is possible for devices from two different zones to be located at or near the same X and Y coordinates on two different sheets of paper. The software believes the two devices are connected to each other. Pipe from different zones may pass within 6” of each other because of the same reason. This will prevent the software from sizing the pipe correctly or performing hydraulic calculations. Because of the problem described above, Pro Contractor Studio has been modified to only size the pipe or perform hydraulic calculations on the current selected page. However, the software will read all pages when creating a legend or calculating a list of materials. To place hydraulic calculations on a page separate from the page containing the design:

  1. Switch to the page containing the irrigation design by clicking on the drawing page tab above the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on the Irrigation > Hydraulics command.
  3. Select a Zone number and click on the Calculate Selected Zone button.
  4. Switch to the page to contain the hydraulic information by clicking on the tab above the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen.
  5. If there are no irrigation components on the page assigned to a zone number, a message will appear indicating, "No control valves or valve-in-head sprinklers have been assigned to a zone.” Click on the OK button to close the message box.
  6. Click on the Insert Hydraulics Data button and place the information on the screen.
  7. Switch back to the page containing the irrigation design and continue the process until all necessary hydraulic calculations are complete.
