When I try to place a symbol such as a plant, there is nothing on my mouse cursor.

I can set two points for the symbol and the software acts like it is placing a symbol, but nothing appears on the screen. Plant symbols that have a fill pattern show the fill, but not the line portions of the symbol itself.

1. Open the Layer Manager and make sure the line thickness setting for the layer on which the symbol is located is not set to zero (0). For example, if you are placing a tree symbol and the symbol does not appear, make sure the line thickness on the Trees layer is not set to 0.
2. Open the Tools > Options command and click on the General tab. Make sure the Line Thickness for all new layers is not set to value of zero (0). The default setting for this feature is 0.1.
