How do I get RainCAD / Land Illustrator 2008 to run on a 64-bit operating system?
The RainCAD / Land Illustrator program is not designed to run with AcceliCAD on a 64-bit operating system. Below is a solution to get RainCAD and AcceliCAD communicating on a 64-bit operating system.
- Look in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodsys\AcceliCAD 2008 V2 folder for the file named icad.sds.
- Open the icad.sds file using a text editor such as Notepad.
- Change the last line in the file from \Program Files\Autodsys\Navigator\Navi5.dll to \Program Files (x86)\Autodsys\Navigator\Navi5.dll.
- Save the file.
- If you have already installed the RainCAD / Land Illustrator program, uninstall the software. If AcceliCAD is installed, you can leave it alone. There is no reason to uninstall the AcceliCAD program.
- Reinstall the RainCAD / Land Illustrator software to a folder directly on your root drive BUT NOT in the Program Files (x86) folder. For example, during the installation of the software, change the installation folder to C:\Software Republic\RCLI 2008 IntelliCAD.
- Run the RainCAD Land Illustrator Registration command from the RainCAD / Land Illustrator 2008 IntelliCAD Edition program group in the Windows Start menu. A registration window will appear and will indicate when RainCAD / Land Illustrator program has been registered with the AcceliCAD engine.
- Start the AcceliCAD program and see if the two programs connect. If you are running Windows 7 or Vista, right-click on the desktop icon and choose Run as administrator.
