RainCAD™ does not recognize the water source or the zone assignments.

If the software does not recognize the water source or the zone assignments there are a few things that might have caused this problem.

  1. The software creates a project database to accompany the drawing and store the water source information. The database has the same name as the drawing except it has a .dat extension. If you rename the drawing, you must rename the associated project database or you will loose your water source and zone assignment information.
  2. If you move the drawing to another location on your computer, you must move the associated project database or you will loose your water source and zone assignment information.
  3. You can have multiple water sources for each design. When you begin a design, there is always a default water source associated with the project. This water source is number one in the list. Lets assume that you assign sprinklers or valves to this water source. You then add a second water source to the list which becomes water source number two in the database. You then delete water source number one from the list and now only have one water source showing. You will loose your zone assignment information because all of the sprinklers and valves were assigned to water source number one which is no longer in the project database. Even though there is only one water source listed at this time, it is water source number two and no sprinklers or valves have been assigned to this water source.
