AcceliCAD shuts down or locks up during operation.

Here are several things to try if the AcceliCAD program locks up during operation.

  1. Make sure you are running the latest release of the software.
  2. Make sure that your video and plotter drivers are up to date.
  3. Turn off the AutoSave mode in the Options command from the AcceliCAD Tools menu.
  4. Audit the drawings! The longer a drawing has been around, the more likely it is to contain errors. From the File menu in AcceliCAD, select the Audit command or type AUDIT in the Command Line and press Enter. Answer Yes to fix and errors detected.
  5. Make use of the WBLOCK command to make a copy of the drawing file. From the Tools menu in AcceliCAD, select Save Block to Disk or type WBLOCK in the Command Line and press Enter. Choose All Entities to immediately save the entire drawing to a separate drawing file. Objects containing bad data will not be written to the new file.
  6. Turn off the Entity Information Window during drawing and editing. Type ENTITYINFO in the Command Line and press Enter. Type Off to disable the command.
  7. Try setting the Hardware Acceleration to None for your graphics adapter. In Windows XP, right-mouse click on your Desktop and click on Properties in the resulting pop-up menu. On the Display Properties dialog box, click on the Settings tab. Click on the Advanced button. In the resulting dialog box, click on the Troubleshoot tab. Slide the Hardware Acceleration button to the None setting on the left side. Click on the Apply button and click on the OK buttons to exit the dialog boxes. Answer Yes to restart your computer.
