AcceliCAD Edition - Version 2008

×

When I start AcceliCAD there are no RainCAD / Land Illustrator menus or toolbars.

Problem: When AcceliCAD is started it should automatically load RainCAD / Land Illustrator along with its menu and toolbars. If the VBA component of AcceliCAD did not get installed RainCAD / Land Illustrator will not automatically load and you will just see the base version of AcceliCAD without the RainCAD / Land Illustrator modules. Diagnoses (PERFORM THIS STEP TO VERIFY VBA6 IS INSTALLED): Start AcceliCAD and press ALT + F11 when it is open. If all the necessary components have been installed you will get a Microsoft Visual Basic editor window which shows some code. If the VBA component is not installed you will get an error saying that VBA is not installed. Solution - If VBA is NOT installed and you are running Windows 2000/XP: There was a problem during the AcceliCAD install which could have been caused by a restricted Windows account, anti-virus, or anti-spyware software. You will need reinstall AcceliCAD and RainCAD / Land Illustrator using an administrator account. If you have a system administrator that has setup your Windows login account, please contact them for assistance. Also, make sure to shut down any programs that you are running including anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. Then, reinstall AcceliCAD and run it. Press ALT + F11 to start the Visual Basic editor. If you continue to get the "VBA not installed" error then there is still a problem during the AcceliCAD installation process caused by a restricted account or software that is running. If the Visual Basic Editor opens correctly, then shutdown AcceliCAD, reinstall RainCAD, and start AcceliCAD again. Solution - If VBA is NOT installed and you are running Windows Vista: Windows Vista has a service called the User Account Control, or UAC, which is responsible for all those annoying pompts everytime you run a program. The UAC can be turned off so that it does not interfere with program installations and/or operation. To temporarely turn the UAC off:

  1. Go to your Windows Start button and open the Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel, navigate to Administrative Tools and then choose System Configuration.
  3. In the System Configuration window, select the Tools tab.
  4. Scroll down to Disable UAC and select it.
  5. Click the Launch button with Disable UAC selected.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. After the computer restarts, make sure you login with an adminstrator account and shut down any programs that you are running including anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
  8. Reinstall AcceliCAD and run it. Press ALT + F11 to start the Visual Basic editor. If you continue to get the "VBA not installed" error then there is still a problem during the AcceliCAD installation process. If the Visual Basic Editor opens correctly, then shutdown AcceliCAD, reinstall RainCAD so that it can merge with AcceliCAD, and start AcceliCAD again.
You can turn the UAC back on by selecting Enable UAC from the System Configuration window, clicking Launch, and restarting the computer. Solution - If VBA is installed:
  1. Click on the Tools menu in AcceliCAD.
  2. Click on Customize in the Tools menu.
  3. On the Customize dialog box, click on the Toolbars tab.
  4. Click on the Reset button and then the Close button.
  5. Close the AcceliCAD program.
  6. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, locate the folder where RainCAD / Land Illustrator was installed. By default it will be installed in the c:\Program Files\Software Republic\RCLI 2008 IntelliCAD folder. Then, open the data folder.
  7. Delete the RainCAD Toolbars.mnu and RainCAD Menus.mnu files and restart the AcceliCAD program.
