This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it.
The error is caused by an AOL update that is affecting the DesignCAD program. We received the following statement from the DesignCAD technical support staff.
There has been a recent update to AOL’s security software that prevents you from using the DesignCAD program. You will need to uninstall or remove AOL's safety and security center until the issue is resolved on their end.
The instructions below need to be done with you being signed in with your Windows XP admin account or access. This requires a reboot to take effect (Step 3). If this does not work on the first attempt, please attempt the same three steps but in safe mode.
Step 1. Turn off AOL Spyware Protection's RTP
1. Start the AOL SAFETY AND SECURITY CENTER (SSC). 2. Go to "Spyware Protection" tab on the left side. 3. Select "Settings" tab. 4. Uncheck "Turn on Spyware Shielding". 5. Exit SSC.
Step 2. Stop CA's RTP service
1. Go to Control Panel. 2. Select "Administrative Tools". 3. Select "Services". 4. Right click "CA Pest Patrol Realtime Protection Service", select Properties. 5. Change "Startup type" To Manual. 6. Click "OK".
Step 3. Reboot Computer
To verify that Steps 1-3 worked successfully:
1. Open Task Manager by pressing the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys at the same time. 2. Check the Processes tab and make sure ITMRTSVC.exe is not on the list.
