There are optional settings for each printer driver installed in Windows. These settings can have an effect on how a printer outputs a drawing.
To check the properties of your printer, follow these steps:
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Choose Settings and then Printers.
- Select your Printer icon.
- On the Files drop down menu, click on Properties.
- There will be several tabs, choose the Details or possibly an Advanced tab. All drivers may be a little different. You may need to search each tab for the following settings.
- Select the Print Spooling button.
- Make sure that Print Spooling is on and that it is spooling in RAW data format. Some printers will have the option of spooling in the computer or in the printer. Try both of these settings to see which works best for you.
- Choose the Fonts tab.
- Make sure that you are using True Type fonts and not the printer fonts.
If you adjust these options you should have better luck with printing.
