This error message appears when the program cannot find or make a connection to the main database. There are several reasons why this may occur.
First, check in your c:\Program Files\Software Republic\RainCAD | EcoCAD directory on your hard drive and make sure the database file by the name of raincad7.dat is present. If not, make sure you have adequate free space on your hard drive and reinstall the program.
Second, we connect to the database in RainCAD, EcoCAD and Irricalc using Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO). You may have an outdated version of ADO on your computer. Visit the Microsoft web site at www.microsoft.com and search for a link to download the Service Pack for your version of Windows. Follow the instructions to download the service pack and install it on your computer.
If you are running Windows 95, an upgrade to a newer operating system would install a more current version of ADO on your computer as well. Since Windows 95 is in the final stage of it's life cycle with Microsoft, you may want to consider upgrading the operating system.
