In the DesignCAD Edition of RainCAD, EcoCAD or Land Illustrator, can I enter an angle in degrees, minutes and seconds or as a bearing when drawing a line?
The most common method of entering an angle is simply typing in the degrees. The degrees are affected by the Mathematical or Geographical Angle setting found in the DesignCAD Options command on the General tab.
You may enter an angle when using the Point Polar command from the Point menu in DesignCAD.
The angle can be entered in degrees, minutes and seconds. Separate the degrees from the minutes with a D and the minutes from seconds with an M. An S may optionally follow the seconds. Refer to the example below:
30d30m30s is equivalent to 30.508333 degrees
In addition, the angle may be entered as a bearing:
n10d10mw is eqivalent to 100.1667 degrees (assuming mathematical angles).
With bearings, it is assumed that north is always straight up. Bearings are not affected by the Mathematical or Geographical Angle setting found in the Coordinate Bar Category from the DesignCAD Options command.
