The Save As command allows you to save your existing drawing file under a new name creating a copy of the file.  Drawing file names end with a .pcs extension.  You should save your drawings on a regular basis.  Saving your drawings will protect you from losing work in the event of a power failure or other unexpected event.

To save a drawing file:

  1. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Save in and change to the folder where the drawing file is to be located on the computer.


    Change to the folder where the drawing is to be saved on the computer.

  2. Enter the name of the drawing file in the File name text box.  It is not necessary to enter the .pcs extension.

  3. Click on the Save button.

Note:

    • The maximum number of characters in a .pcs file name (including the path) is 256 characters.

    • You can quickly save an existing drawing by click on the Save icon in the toolbar.

    • Template files are saved in the ...\Pro Contractor Studio\Templates folder.

    • You may output the drawing to an Adobe� PDF file if you have a driver installed on your computer.  You may purchase a driver from Adobe� or you may find another PDF driver by searching the Internet.  Be sure to adjust the paper orientation and size if necessary before printing to the PDF format.
