The Quick Dimension command will allow you to quickly dimension entities on the design screen.  The command will recognize the selected entity and enact the proper dimension command.  The command will not force a horizontal or vertical dimension.

To draw an aligned dimension:

  1. Select the Quick Dimension command from the Draw menu or click on the toolbar icon.

  2. Click a point for the start of the distance to be measured.

  3. Click a second point for the end of the distance to be measured.

  4. Drag the mouse to the desired location for the dimension text and click a third point to complete the command.
 
To draw a radius dimension:
 
  1. Select the Quick Dimension command from the Draw menu or click on the toolbar icon.

  2. Click a point on an arc or circle.

  3. Drag the mouse to the desired location for the dimension text and click a second point to complete the command.  A small plus sign (+) will be placed at the base point of the radius dimension.
 
To draw a diameter dimension:

  1. Select the Quick Dimension command from the Draw menu or click on the toolbar icon.

  2. Click a point on a circle.

  3. Drag the mouse to the desired location for the dimension text and click a second point to complete the command.  A small plus sign (+) will be placed at the base point of the diameter dimension.
 
To draw an angular dimension:
 
  1. Select the Quick Dimension command from the Draw menu or click on the toolbar icon.

  2. Set a base point location or origin from which to dimension the two lines.

  3. Click on the start angle (line one).

  4. Drag the mouse to the desired location for the dimension text and click a third point to complete the command.
 

Notes:

  • You can set values for all dimension parts and the color assignments in the Options command on the Dimensions tab.

  • Select the Display Format and Precision in the Options command on the General tab.
