Pro Contractor Studio inserts all symbols as blocks. A block can be composed of multiple objects drawn on several layers with various colors, line types, and line weight properties. For example, sprinkler symbols include the actual sprinkler nozzle symbol drawn on a layer. The arc pattern and the zone assignment number are drawn separately. These objects are combined together as a block and inserted into the drawing.
Suppose you make changes to the appearance of a symbol that is assigned to a piece of equipment or plant material that is currently on the drawing screen. When you place another piece of equipment or plant material, the symbol does not change. The symbol is already inserted into the drawing as a block. You must first "purge" the drawing of the block before a new symbol may be placed displaying the changes.
To purge means to remove, clear or otherwise get rid of something. You cannot purge a block if the block is in use on the design screen. You must first delete any references to the block on the screen, meaning you must erase the symbols from the drawing.
To purge drawing symbols:
-
Select the unwanted symbols on the design screen. Refer to the help topic on Selecting Objects for more information.
-
Erase the selected objects by pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.
-
