The Point Polar command will allow you to set a point at a specified angle and distance from the Anchor Point location.  This command is often used in conjunction with another drawing command such as the Line command.  The command makes drafting a building or house a simple process.

Angles begin with the 0 angle directly horizontal to the right of the current Anchor Point location.  An angle of 90 is straight up from the Anchor Point.  A 180 angle is to the left and a 270 angle is straight down from the Anchor Point.  Refer to the following illustration for clarification.

To make use of the Point Polar command:

  1. Enact a command such as the Line command.

  2. Press the ; (semicolon) shortcut key or one of the Arrow Keys to enact the Point Polar command.

  3. Enter the desired angle in the A text box and press the Enter key or click on a directional arrow to select an angle.  If you enact the program by pressing an Arrow Key, the angle will already be established in the command.  For example, the right arrow key will enter an angle of 0 while the up arrow key will enter an angle of 90.

Note:

  • You can enact the command by pressing the Arrow Keys on the keyboard.  Pressing the right arrow key establishes an angle of 0, the up arrow key is 90, the left arrow key is 180 and the down arrow key is 270.

  • You can enter a distance as a decimal number or as feet and inches.  For example, you can enter 10 feet 3 inches as either 10.25 or as 10' 3".
