How do I turn off the UAC?

The UAC is the Windows User Account Control found in Windows 11, 10, or 8. To turn off the UAC:

  1. On the Start screen, press the right mouse button anywhere on the Start screen and then click on All apps.
  2. On the Apps screen, swipe or scroll to the right and find the Windows System category.
  3. Press or click on the Control Panel icon under Windows System.
  4. A quicker method is to press the WIN and X keys together on the keyboard to access the Power User Menu which has a shortcut for Control Panel.
  5. Windows 8 will switch to the Desktop and open the Control Panel.
  6. Click on User Accounts and Family Safety.
  7. Click on User Accounts.
  8. Click on the link for Change User Account Control settings. Move the slider bar all the way to the bottom for Never notify.
  9. Click on the OK button.
Repeat the steps to turn the UAC back on.
