Add, Delete, or Rename

The Add, Delete and Rename commands allow you to modify the list of Plant Categories, Plant Material, Plant Sizes, Areas, Fill Materials and more.

To add a new item to a list:

1. Click on the Add button or icon.

2. In most cases a dialog box will appear.  Enter the new name or size and click on the OK button.

3. For plant material, a new plant will be appear in the list.  Enter the name for the new plant in the Common Name and Botanical Name text boxes.  When adding lighting Fixtures in a selected category, you must also enter the different configurations of each fixture in the Fixture Configurations area.

4. When adding a new plant size, in the Add to drop down menu, choose Selected Plant Only to assign the new size to the currently selected plant.  Choose All plants of the same category to assign the new plant size to every plant in the current category.  Choose All plants to assign the new plant size to every plant in the database.

 

To delete an item from a list:

1. Click on the Delete button or icon.

2. Answer Yes to the resulting prompt to delete the information from the database, or No to exit without deleting the information.

Note:

• You cannot undo a deletion. Once an item is deleted, the data will be lost and you will have re-enter the data into the database to restore the information.

• Deleting a category of plants, fill materials or lighting fixtures will delete all entries within the category.

 

To rename a category or item in a list:

1. Click on the Rename button or icon.

2. In most cases a dialog box will appear.  Enter the new name or size and click on the OK button.

3. For plant material, edit the name in the list or enter the name in the Common Name and Botanical Name text boxes.
