A quick list of the new features in Photoscapes 2.0 include the following:
- New zoom feature lets you zoom in or out with the scroll button on the mouse.
- You can now pan around the screen by pressing the scroll button on the mouse, moving the cursor to a new location, and then releasing the scroll button.
- The new Image Sprayer command allows you to "spray" images on the design screen. This tool will be used in most instances to apply mulch, ground cover or vines to a design. You can also erase sprayed images with the tool.
- You can now quickly sort the plant objects by either common or botanical name in the Object Placement or Image Sprayer dialog box.
- You can now create Object Palettes to make the selection of commonly used objects easier during the design process.
- The improved Layers box allows you to quickly see which layers are visible or invisible, locked or unlocked with the easy to see icons.
- The new Add or Subtract Region Edit modes allow you to increase or decrease an existing region on the drawing.
- You can now create a region using the new Color Wand or Color Region commands. In addition, you can Paint a region with a brush.
- You can now Delete or Invert the region(s) on the design screen.
- You can now turn a selected region into a useable object with the new Create Object from Region command.
- The improved Shadow command allows you to easily position the shadow in relation to the selected objects before inserting the shadows on the design screen.
- The new Combine with Background command allows you to combine an object with the background image or canvas.
- The Cloning Tool now has a "stamp" mode that will keep the source location stationary in one location as you clone an area.
- The canvas or object Effects now include Saturation.
- There is now a brand new module with an assortment of accent lighting design tools to create different lighting effects. You can create elliptical, conical, polygon or line lights. You can create shadows or highlights. You can add a glare to a light object. You can adjust the canvas darkness and assign a color to all lighting objects on the design.
